The International Union of Free Journalists (IUFJ)
The International Union of Free Journalists (IUFJ) was initiated in September 2022 as a public initiative and currently operates in the format of an Organizing Committee.
The idea of creating the IUFJ belongs to a wide range of media professionals, political scientists and human rights defenders from Moldova, Russia, Belarus, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Latvia and Austria. It appeared as a reaction to unprecedented state campaigns in Moldova, Ukraine, the Baltic States, Germany, etc., aimed at persecuting citizens for their political position, adherence to family values, and criticism of pro-Western regimes.
The main purpose of the IUFJ
Protection of the rights and freedoms of the media, journalists, opinion leaders, etc
. In addition, the union aims to promote the development of modern media that meet the criteria of professionalism, freedom of speech and adherence to traditional values.

Activities and partnerships

IUFJ operates in the format of a public association. At the moment, decisions on the next stages of activity are made by the Organizing Committee of the IUFJ under the guidance of the coordinator of the Organizing Committee.The Organizing Committee includes representatives of the journalistic and expert communities of Moldova, Russia, Latvia, Turkey, Austria, Azerbaijan, etc.

IUFJ actively cooperates with the European Center for the Protection of Human Rights (Austria), the Working Group on the creation of the Public Chamber of the EAEU countries, the patriotic platform "People's Union" (Moldova), the Foundation for Combating Repression.
