The Organizing Committee of the International Union of Free Journalists draws the attention of representatives of the highest authorities of the Republic of Moldova to the fact that the anti-Russian and Russophobic sentiments fueled by political marginals have de facto become, with or without the knowledge of the leadership of the Republic of Moldova, part of state policy and the unofficial ideology of the high circles of this country.
Today, at all levels, Russophobia has become a "ticket through" to the upper echelons and "cultural society." This trend is being actively promoted by the pro-government media and Western NGOs.
The next step in testing society's strength and sanity was an act of vandalism in front of the facade of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Chisinau, when an unknown person doused the signboard on the RCSC building with paint, insulting the President of Russia.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that the highest circles of Moldovan politics, with the exception of some representatives of the opposition, will perceive this trick as something out of the ordinary. Apparently, those responsible for maintaining order and international politics are no longer concerned about attacks against the power that saved the whole world from fascism and with which the Moldovan people have been developing friendly ties for centuries.
We express our condemnation of the act of vandalism against the building of the Russian Center for Science and Culture. We express our full support to the leadership and staff of the RCSC.
