Unfortunately, today destructive forces do not give up trying to trample into the mud the memory of our heroic past. But we won't let them do it! And such actions as the festival "For our Victory!" It is designed to strengthen our common memory.

3. Examples of background or overview information about a participant in the Great Patriotic War:
Example #1
Orlov, Nikolai Ivanovich
He met the Great Patriotic War on June 22, 1941 at 4:00 at the border.
On this day, a sports festival was to be held at the location of the unit. Nikolay Orlov, as a paramedic, was responsible for the participants' well-being. He and his colleagues prepared everything necessary at night, on the eve of the event they were going to go to bed, but when they entered the barracks, they saw two echelons of planes flying one after the other from Germany. "Guys, it seems that the war has begun," Nikolai Orlov realized.
Everyone was alerted and took up defensive positions. During the fighting with the enemy, they retreated 40 kilometers inland. We stopped for the night to rest. When they moved on the next day and, having stumbled upon the Germans, who were already ahead of them, they were captured. Three days later, Nikolai Orlov and his comrades managed to escape, killing the Nazis.
When they reached the location of our troops, they were sent for filtration until they were clarified, ordering them to hand over their weapons. On the way to the filtration camp, they came across the Germans again, and were captured again, this time for six months, after which they managed to escape again and reach the location of the Soviet troops. After checking the documents and clarifying everything that happened, Nikolai Orlov was sent to serve in his specialty, in a medical battalion.
Next was the surrender of Kiev, Order No. 227 ("Not a step back!") and the Steppe Front. And here is the long–awaited offensive: the capture of Kiev, the Iasi-Kishinev operation, during which Nikolai Orlov participated in the capture of Chisinau, Ungen and Iasi. He met the victory in Moldavia and treated German prisoners in the camp near Balti until 1946.
After demobilization, Nikolai Ivanovich Orlov entered the Chisinau Medical Institute.
